Make Up For Ever Artist Liquid Matte Lip Colors (New shades!)

Make Up For Ever's Artist Liquid lipsticks has to be one of my favorite liquid lipstick formula. Needless to say that I was very happy when I heard that they launched 9 new shades. And I have swatches of all the colors for you!

Texture-wise, I would say that the new shades are a tiny bit thicker than the original 6 shades (which you can see here!). But I didn't see any difference when I applied them on my lips, the lipstick is still super smooth and doesn't dry too fast.

Honestly, there's pretty much no difference between the first launch and these 9 new shades! (that's great news, right?!)

Left to right : 403, 207, 209, 501, 505, 201, 401, 301 and 503.

The creamy gel formula dries down to a matte finish and doesn't transfer on everything your lips touch.

They are less drying than other matte liquid lipsticks as well, but less moisturizing than a glossy liquid lipstick (like their Artist Acrylip Lip Paints).

Out of the 15 shades, two of them weren't that great. The shade 503 is difficult to work with and looks so patchy, while the color 201 looks chalky on my lips.

However, the 13 other shades are awesome! They are extremely pigmented and the formula glides smoothly on the lips. The colors 501 and 505 were a bit streaky when I swatched them on my arm, but they applied perfectly evenly on my lips.

201 Fresh Pink is a light cool-toned pink with a matte finish.

205 Mauvy Pink is a mauvy berry pink with a matte finish.

207 Raspberry Pink is a deep berry red with a matte finish.

301 Rust is a light rusty brown with a matte finish.

401 Red is a bright red with a matte finish.

403 Deep Red is a deep cool-toned red with a matte finish.

501 Purple is a bold purple violet with a matte finish.

503 Deep Plum is a deep reddish plum with a matte finish.

505 Blackcurrant is a blackened eggplant with a matte finish.

The Make Up For Ever Artist Liquid Matte Lipsticks retail for $25 CAD for 2.5ml.
