5-Colour Eyeshadow Palette in 02 Pretty Night ($39 CAD for 7.5g)
This eyeshadow palette is gorgeous! The light beige-taupe has a lovely formula, it's very smooth for a matte eyeshadow! The copper brown has a glittery finish, it's the only shade that is prone to fall out during the application. The olive-brown has a beautiful shimmery finish and is highly pigmented. Now this is the sad part, the dark purple is very sheer and too hard. On the other hand, the soft black was a nice surprise : on my skin it's not black, it's a beautiful coffee brown! It's a bit sheer, but it's buildable. Overall, I love 4 shades out of 5!
I did notice a strong plastic scent every time I open this palette. I'm not sure what is up with that smell, but at least I can't smell it when I'm wearing it. I haven't seen anyone else complain about it though, maybe it's just mine? So yeah, it has a weird smell and the purple shade isn't that great but I still think it's a beautiful eyeshadow palette!
Ombre Matte Cream-To-Powder Matte Eyeshadow in 07 Carbon ($26 CAD for 7g)
This soft black is perfect for a smoky eye look! The finish is not really matte, although not as sparkly as you are seeing there. I would say it's a slightly shimmery finish with a few silver sparkles. The color payoff is amazing and although it's not really a cream-to-powder, the formula is buttery smooth! This shade did crease a bit on me, unfortunately, but nothing a good primer can't fix.
What I loved the most about this eyeshadow is how easy it is to blend. If you've ever tried to blend black eyeshadow, you know sometimes it can be a pain to deal with. Not this one!
Long-Lasting Eye Pencil in 01 Carbon Black ($24 CAD for 1.05g)
This eye pencil comes with a sharpener and a built-in brush. The brush is a nice addition, it's much better than a sponge tip! I love to use this brush to smudge the product on the upper lash line. However I wouldn't say that this formula is long-lasting, it doesn't set on the skin so you can still smudge it during the day. I highly recommend to set it with an eyeshadow.
It can be worn on the waterline too, the formula is creamy and it has excellent color payoff. The staying power wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing either, it was comparable to other black eye kohls. None of them last all day on me and this one is no exception, but I love the creamy (yet not too greasy) formula because I don't need to do several passes before the color shows up on my waterline!
(I received these products in order to evaluate them and give my opinion, but rest assured that my comments are always honest and impartial.)
Oh hi Specktra friend! :)
ReplyDeleteI usually don't have that problem with Clarins (their foundations are amazing!), but I was surprised that the Ombre Matte eyeshadow creased a bit on me.. I tried other shades this summer and they had great staying power.
